After a career in music and singing, Annie is now enjoying developing her love of painting, something that had to be put aside to concentrate on her musical studies and teaching.
Over the last few years she has moved from working in watercolour to experimenting with acrylics and mixed media. She is particularly interested in sea and coastal scapes and is now moving through a looser, expressionist style towards abstraction and experimental abstracts.
Annie is a member of Salisbury Group of Artists and Plain Arts, and as an Exhibition team member for SGA, she curates their major exhibitions.
I am constantly fascinated by the play of light on water, on the sea and in the landscape, and the changes that happen as you observe!
I truly have the ‘Seascape bug’ and my work tries to capture the effect of light on water at the coast or inland.
I am thrilled to be able to at last have time to paint, after a music teaching career. I also really enjoy hanging the huge variety of work of the 170 members of Salisbury Group of Artists, whose exhibitions I curate.

“I recently acquired one of Annie’s stunning original paintings at a local exhibition and am absolutely thrilled with it. It is a seascape of the Solent and has so perfectly captured the atmosphere of the location that I am reminded of all the fantastic times I have had on the water there every time I look at it.
Thank you so very much.” George S - Salisbury Plain
