BIO
Diane moved to Salisbury in 2017 having fallen in love with a local artist!
Now settled in the city and currently working as a vintage fashion stylist and shop manager - Diane is rediscovering her passion for Collage Art.
She originally studied at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in London gaining a BA (hons) degree in Theatre set and Costume Design.
She subsequently worked in fringe theatres across the Capital as well as for the National Theatre and an independent Opera Company.
Her other talent for Tap Dancing soon took over (she was once the best female solo tap dancer in the world!) and she taught at professional level for many years.
Diane has recently been working with Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) on a Collage collab featuring his own personal festival wristband collection!
Launching at the Enter Gallery, Brighton, in August 2023 - limited edition prints of these unique Collage artworks will also be on sale.
Her work can also be purchased locally at J.A.M.S Interiors on Winchester Street in Salisbury.
MY ART
One of my obvious influences is Peter Blake, plus Pollock's Toy theatres and the Collage advertising work of Jacques Kapralik during the golden age of Hollywood.
I hand-cut vintage postcards, stamps, cigarette cards - items I have collected for years - plus magazine cuttings and any other recycled paper ephemera I can find! My frames are also sourced second-hand whenever possible. Unless working on commissions I don't usually use digital images - hence the phrase "Analogue Collage" to best describe my process.
Below are a few examples of my work for sale (all framed though dimensions are given unframed ) but do follow me on instagram @vintage_shuffle where I often post before and after shots of how I build up the layers of my 3D Collage work. Enjoy!
