PROFILE
Sarah is a portrait sculptor. She lives in the countryside near Salisbury. Her sculptures capture a moment between the viewer and the subject or between subjects. They are fun and tactile.
Sarah sell marble resin relief sculptures by post, via her website, or at markets and exhibitions. The subjects are close to her experience: landscapes, seascapes, dogs and horses. Marble resin creates clean, clear and powerfully restrained images.
Sarah has been working as a sculptor for 12 years. Graduating from The Courtauld Institute of Art, she went on to work with textiles and watercolour before studying with professional sculptors and discovering the joy of clay.
Alongside her limited edition reliefs, Sarah accept commissions for 3-D or bas relief portrait heads of adults, children, horses and dogs to be cast in bronze or bronze resin.
MY ART
Each relief is sculpted initially in stoneware clay. From that relief I make a mould. Into each mould I pour mostly marble powder held in just enough clear resin to bond it.
I take ten marble resin reliefs from each mould. The reliefs are resilient and mounted on a board in a contrasting colour with fittings for hanging on the reverse of the board.
The marble resin relief scultures below are all limited editions (10) and are sold mounted on rich red, blue or black wooden mounts to suit.
