I am excited to be offering my new textile workshops this year.
I was lucky enough to be taught by a female class teacher who rewarded hard work with sewing all afternoon. In the sewing class room there was a double fronted cupboard full of every shade of Anchor Tapestry thread.
In 2000, I completed a 4 year City & Guilds Creative Embroidery course. Since then, I has been working as an artist-maker in textiles for over 20 years.
I now look forward to passing on my knowledge and passion for textiles to anyone who would like to learn this rewarding skill.
My workshops are held in Harnham, Salisbury and will start as soon as lockdown restrictions have been removed.

WORKSHOPS
FREE MACHINE EMBROIDERY3-hour workshop - max 2 places - £40 Plus £5 for materials Range of fabrics: 2/3 pieces of cotton calico fabric; bondaweb; biro; pieces of freezer paper This 3 hour workshop will teach you how to use your sewing machine to draw using the needle. I will show you basic skills and you will complete a finished sample by the end of the session to take away. No drawing experience is needed. I will teach you how to use the sewing machine as a creative tool so that you can embellish quilts, cards, decorate clothing, cushions or bags. I will show you how to introduce texture into your work. You will need a good working sewing machine ready with a darning foot suitable for your make and model of machine. You will need to check in your manual that you can lower the feed dogs. You will be required to bring a couple of bobbins already wound and plenty of thread. Level: Intermediate - basic sewing skills required - you must be able to wind bobbins and thread the machine |

BORO STYLE STITCHING
3 hour workshop - max 4 places - £40 Plus £5 for materials 1 piece of denim, wadding and some lace and cotton fabrics - Cotton Perle Spend a lovely day working with fabrics with Vicky on a date to be arranged. Exploring a range of slow stitching techniques you will begin applique your fabrics together to create a sample piece so that you can refer to it later and incorporate this work on tote bags, clothing, table runners, mini quilts etc. This workshop is all hand stitched. You will learn at least 6 basic hand sewing stitches and will complete a finished sample by the end of the session to take away. Level: Beginner - basic sewing skills required - you must be able to thread a needle |

EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP3-hour workshop - max 4 places - £40 Inclusive of all materials. I can also provide all essential drawiwng and sewing materials Spend a lovely day working with fabrics with Vicky from 10am until 1pm, breaking around 11am for a coffee and Danish, included in the fee! In this workshop we will explore how to arrange and sketch household objects so that you create your own uniquely designed piece of work. We also will use a range of slow stitching techniques to create a sample piece so that you can refer to it later and incorporate this work on tote bags, clothing, table runners, mini quilts etc. You will learn at least 6 basic hand sewing stitches and will complete a finished sample by the end of the session to take away. Level: Beginner - basic sewing skills required - you must be able to thread a needle |
