I am an artist living on the edge of the New Forest. I run regular workshops at my garden studio - Sycamores, Grove Lane, Redlynch, Salisbury SP5 2NR

I work in all mediums and welcome beginners or those with some experience. 

I work with small groups of 2-5 people.

All materials and light refreshments are provided for each workshop. 

You will need to bring just an apron and also your own lunch for the whole day workshops.

WORKSHOPS

WATERCOLOUR - LAYERS AND PATTERNS

You will use inks and watercolours to produce a colourful watercolour painting in a unique style.

Full-day workshop - 10am - 3pm  -  £60

WATERCOLOUR - BATIK ON RICE PAPER

Learn how to combine watercolour painting with the ancient craft of batik to produce a vibrant painting.

Half-day workshop -  10am - 1pm  -  £40

DRAWING - PEN AND INK

Using photographs of trees or venturing into the garden to create detailed drawings of trees using basic shapes and marks to inform your work.

2-hour workshop -  10am - 12pm  -  £30

DRAWING - WITH CHARCOAL

Using photographs or en plein air learn how to use charcoal to make tonal sketches that can be later used to inform your paintings

PRINTING - LINOCUTS

Curing and printing Lino. Discover ways of making exciting prints for cards and gift tags.

PRINTING - COLLAGRAPH 

Learn how to glue, cut, ink and print a collagraph board made from various textured papers, fabrics and scraps. Abstract or birds theme.

ACRYLICS - ROCKS AND SEA

Using acrylics paints and mediums with brushes and palette knives to produce a seascape.

Half-day workshop - 10am - 1pm  -  £40

ACRYLIC - POURING

A fun way to produce very vibrant abstract paintings. You will go home with several small paintings in a variety of colour mixes. This workshop can be messy - so old clothes needed!

An opportunity to try out new mediums and tools that will help you to produce textures and effects that you can later use in your paintings.

ACRYLICS & COLLAGE

A mixed media approach to producing a painting of a vase of flowers using paint and collage.

Learn how to build up layers of acrylics overpainted with stencils to produce a lovely and interesting painting.

COLLAGE - CHOICE OF SUBJECT OR ABSTRACT 

Paper collage pieces cut and torn form papers and magazines to create a painting full of colour and texture. Once you havelearned this technique you will be looking everywhere for interesting collage materials.

Working from sketches or photographs you will be shown how to use brushes and palette knives to bring your painting to life.

Starting with an acrylic background you will then use palette  knives and brushes to work on your chosen subject.
